Theclass action lawsuit you're referring to only applies to the 2012 and up models, this is a 2010 which sits on the same platform as the 1st gen Focus. If this is a manual trans (MTX75) they are damn near bulletproof, the Auto trans remains unchanged from the 2000 model focus with slight improvements in reliability in the 2005 models.

Ijust purchased a 2016 Focus last week and didn't realize the car had transmission issues The car has only 28500 miles, 1 owner, looks brand new in the exterior and interior. I test drove it and didn't notice any major issues with the clutch/transmission. My2014 3.5eb is at 109k miles, it's only had a few small non-engine related issues (rear window defrost doesn't work, climate control blend door broke, and a transmission cooling line rusted through) and I plan to drive it until it hits 200k miles. ninethirty99. • 2 yr. ago. Had a 13 Lariat 5.0. Nothing but joy.

Ihave been offered a 2014 Ford Focus SE (Hatchback) for $7,000. It's been driven ~100,000 miles (mostly highways), and has new battery, clutch, and tires. The oil change has been synthetic only at every 8-9k miles. My only concern is maintenance costs, because the car feels and looks brand new!
